Wonderful experience

We had read the reviews beforehand so knew not to expect a top end 5-star experience, but for the price we paid we were ok with that. The check in experience was a bit busman's holiday but once we had got to our room and settled in it was all worth it. We stayed in a bungalow with a sea view and had a lovely balcony and private entrance away from the main hotel. The service was good, the food great and the atmosphere of the place just what we wanted. Quiet and relaxed and lots of grounds so it felt really spacious. Our experience may have been due to the fact the hotel closed for the end of season on our last day so throughout the week it got quieter and quieter which suited us. We also always got a sun lounger by the pool and at the beach and always were able to sit outside in the restaurant. The beach is wonderful and we hired a car to explore the island. We would definitely go back to Rhodes and to this hotel as we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Lovely family holiday- A lot to like

We visited Mitsis Rodos in half term and were a little concerned after reading mixed reviews. On arrival the receptionist was very friendly and we were treated to welcome drinks before a buggy took us to our room. Now a lot of people have been critical of the rooms but ours was a clean, modern bungalow. Plenty of room for us 4 and beds were comfy and the air conditioning was excellent. Main good parts we found were the lovely beach which had an excellent all inclusive bar and served snacks and also the pizza oven on the beach was a nice touch. The Greek bar served lovely gyros, the crepes served at the hotel were lovely and we quite enjoyed the speciality restaurants. On the whole the staff were very friendly and Elizabeth in the main lobby bar was amazing although one waiter in the Mexican restaurant was very rude. I also thought there was a decent choice of drinks available on the all inclusive. Downsides- breakfast in the buffet restaurant was nice but we felt the evening meals lacked a bit of variation and quality. We have also used many salt water swimming pools on previous visits to other hotels but the salt water in this pool was borderline vile. In summary. There is so much to like about Mitsis Rodos. It's just with a few bits being dated it is unworthy of a 5 star rating. We got a very good last minute deal and were very happy with the hotel for what we paid but if you visited expecting 5 star total luxury you may end up being disappointed.

Relaxing family holiday

We stayed over October half term and left the day the whole resort closed for the winter. Overall we had a really relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Best bits: - - Having everything we needed included in our stay (beach/pool towels, food, drinks, snacks, beach bar, pizza on the beach, a la carte restaurants) - Pleasant surroundings - Room configuration for a family of 5 worked well (we stayed in a Garden View Maisonette). - Pan Asian a la carte restaurant Could have been better:- - Some drinks in the buffet restaurant had a funny taste to them (particularly the sprite) - Entertainment towards the end of our stay was repeatedly cancelled with very poor communication, people were sitting and waiting for it as we hadn't been told. - Some bars were running out of ingredients as it was end of season. - Pool was so deep it wasn't great for our kids and it was absolutely freezing. However we absolutely loved the beach and sea. - We had a lot of ants in our room, it didn't bother us too much but I think they could have done more to stop them. - One day we couldn't get beach/pool towels until much later in the day which was really frustrating - Food in buffet wasn't as good as other similar value hotels we've stayed in but we did all find something to eat for every meal. We will be looking to book a Mitsis holiday again as I like what they include in an all inclusive holiday and came home thoroughly relaxed from this one.
